چکیده

Responses in unidirectional mixed leukocyte cultures of CBA, C3H/He, A, C57BL/6, and DBA/2 spleen cells to stimulator spleen cells derived from normal AKR mice and from AKR mice bearing a long-passage lymphoblastic leukemia (LAKR) were compared. Thymidine and uridine uptake by allogeneic cells (responder cells) cultured with either mitomycin C treated or X-irradiated LAKR cells (stimulator cells) was significantly lower than uptake by cells cultured with comparably treated normal AKR cells. Uptake by responder cells cultured with a second nonleukemic, allogeneic stimulator population, in addition to LAKR cells, was also diminished, indicating that dimin ished uptake was due to active inhibition, rather than "nonstimulation." Soluble inhibitory factors could not be

Leukemia in AKR mice. I. Effects of leukemic cells on antibody-forming potential of syngeneic and allogeneic normal cells

Cells from the spleen, thymus, lymph node, and liver of leukemic AKR mice suppress in vitro antibody responses of normal syngeneic and semiallogeneic cells. This suppression can be mediated by irradiated leukemic cells, requires cell contact between leukemic and normal cells, and may occur at any time during the in vitro culture period. Leukemic AKR cells do not suppress antibody responses of a...

Mesenchymal Stem Cells Do Not Suppress Lymphoblastic Leukemic Cell Line Proliferation

Background: Several studies have demonstrated the immunosuppresive effects of mes-enchymal stem cells (MSCs) in allogeneic or mitogenic interactions. Cell-cell contact inhibition and secretion of suppressive soluble factors have been suggested in this re-gard. Objective: To investigate if adipose derived MSCs could inhibit Jurkat lym-phoblastic leukemia T cell proliferation during coculture. Me...

Human T lymphoblasts and activated dendritic cells in the allogeneic mixed leukocyte reaction are susceptible to NK cell-mediated anti-CD83-dependent cytotoxicity.

CD83 is a marker of dendritic cell (DC) differentiation/activation and its expression in the mouse thymus contributes to CD4(+) T lymphocyte development. Its extrathymic role remains unclear despite the functional effects observed with CD83 fusion proteins or CD83 antibody and recent reports of potential ligands. We investigated the previously observed and presumed functional blockade of the al...

An electron microscopic study of the leukemia virus in AKR and hybrid mice inoculated with ascites passage or tissue-cultured leukemic cells.

Various organs and tumors from AKR and hybrid mice and leukcmic cells grown in tissue culture were studied by electron microscopy. Only spleen and thymus were examined in fetuses and newborn mice. In adults, solid tumors, lymph nodes, and ascites cells were also studied. AKR mice dying of spontaneous leukemia showed typical virus particles (Types A and C) in their lymph nodes. No virus particle...
